Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife in Boston, MA is seeking a Systems Administrator I to manage Windows server environments, Active Directory, VMWare, and Citrix. You will serve as escalation point for infrastructure issues and maintain backups and DR plans.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in CS or related field and have 1–3 years of relevant experience. The role is hybrid with on-site responsibilities and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Cisco certification and Microsoft certifications preferred.
• Experience in Health Care/Research environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and administer Windows-based servers and a virtualized environment using VMware and Citrix.
• Implement, test and release software updates/patches; install, configure, and troubleshoot servers, storage, and PCs.
• Rack and install server equipment.
• Provide technical support by addressing software, hardware, systems and infrastructure questions.
• Monitor environmental systems (AC, power) and notify responsible parties when issues arise.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verify hardware, server resources, logs, backups, and job completion.
• Maintain data integrity, backups, restores and disaster recovery.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Participate on project teams.
• Maintain documentation of relevant processes and apply policies.
• Work with vendors on support issues.
• Participate in evaluations under management guidance.
• Escalate tickets to Systems Administrator II or higher as needed.
• Attend local user groups and conferences.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
