Harvard University’s CBAR unit within the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is recruiting a System Administrator.

You will maintain Linux, Windows, and VMware environments, implement security measures, and support disaster recovery and continuity planning in a hybrid on-site/remote setup. You’ll work with the IT Infrastructure Team to configure and maintain systems, assist with security and data protection, and coordinate projects across multiple NIH-funded research networks in a

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years IT experience including 3+ years in systems administration.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting virtual server environments and data/security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Familiarity with data security standards such as NIST 800-53 and 21 CFR Part 11.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux, Windows Server/AD, virtualization, Linux scripting, and SAS/R/Python on a research cluster.
• Experience with Ansible and Jira is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, administer, and secure Linux, Windows, and VMware environments.
• Plan and perform complex infrastructure engineering across systems and networks.
• Provide technical and project assistance across multiple projects.
• Support system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Contribute to disaster recovery, compliance, business continuity, and security planning for CBAR computing environment.
• Monitor performance, manage accounts and access, apply patches, and perform backups and upgrades.
