Job summary

IAT Insurance Group in Newark, NJ is seeking a System Administrator Intern for Summer 2027 in the Information Technology Business Unit. You will install, configure, and monitor hardware, software, and cloud environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security, with the opportunity to work on automation and documentation.

The 10-week internship runs May 24, 2027 to July 30, 2027, on a hybrid schedule with in-office days Monday–Wednesday and remote Thursday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work at Newark, NJ office without housing or relocation assistance.
• Must complete the 10-week internship (May 24, 2027 to July 30, 2027).
• Rising undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
• Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of Windows OS, Networking, Cloud technologies, and information security principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and monitor hardware, software, and cloud environments for high availability and security.
• Assist with evaluation, design, and delivery of infrastructure and cloud solutions.
• Leverage automation tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Contribute to documentation, DR planning, and recovery preparedness.
• Build dashboards, reports, and operational metrics for IT leadership.
