Job summary

IAT Insurance Group in Cheshire, CT offers a Networking Intern position in its IT Business Unit for the summer of 2027. The internship provides real-world networking experience, from reviewing backup jobs to hands-on router configuration, with hybrid in-office and remote days.

The program runs May 24 to August 30, 2027, and targets undergraduates in CS/Networking/MIS who are eager to learn enterprise networking in a collaborative environment with mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be a rising undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Networking or MIS.
• Must be able to work out of our Cheshire, Connecticut office without housing or relocation assistance.
• Must complete the entirety of the 10-week internship program (May 24, 2027 to August 30, 2027).
• Desire to learn about Enterprise networking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• A track record of outstanding academic performance.
• Eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Review nightly backup jobs of key networking equipment.
• Identify key networking areas that can be improved or adjusted.
• Document routes, ACLs, and firewall rules.
• Network monitoring and analysis.
• Hands-on experience configuring switches and routers.
• Shadow changes, upgrades and network design.
