Job summary

Georg Fischer is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to collaborate with Sourcing and Purchasing to drive supplier performance and quality improvements. The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, overseeing PPAP activities, and guiding supplier onboarding to meet Uponor standards.

The position is hybrid with onsite work at the North American manufacturing headquarters in Apple Valley, MN, and requires travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain.
• 0 to 3 years experience.
• Experience in manufacturing processes such as machining and/or injection molding preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional project team activities effectively.
• Exposure to various quality tools and methodologies including PPAP, 8D, Cpk/Ppk.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage and monitor supplier performance and COPQ by initiating and reviewing KPI.
• Monitor and report supplier development metrics per the supplier scorecard and address deviations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supplier strategies with business goals.
• Lead NPD-related supplier input for design, manufacturing, and testing per Uponor requirements.
• Assess new and prospective suppliers to support business needs.
• Provide onboarding/training for new suppliers and monitor performance.
