Job summary

Manulife John Hancock's Legal & Compliance Summer Internship Program is your launchpad to success, offering the support, structure, and exciting opportunities you need to thrive and make your mark. The internship provides exposure to Compliance and Legal, supporting teams responsible for regulatory oversight, investment compliance, and fund-related initiatives, with collaboration across multiple functions.

Salary range is between $46,800 USD and $64,400 USD, prorated by term, with a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Political Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
• Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to learn in a professional environment.
• Interest in compliance, legal, regulatory, risk, or financial services functions.

Responsibilities

• Support compliance and legal teams with research, analysis, reporting, and special projects.
• Assist with compliance monitoring, testing, oversight activities, and regulatory-related initiatives.
• Contribute to process improvement efforts designed to increase efficiency and effectiveness across the team.
• Explore and leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools and automation solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, and other business functions to gather information and support ongoing initiatives.
• Learn and complete tasks within your assigned team while developing an understanding of the financial services and regulatory environment.
• Contribute ideas and recommendations to solve business challenges and improve existing processes.
• Develop and deliver an industry-related project presentation to senior management and peers.
