Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Physical Designer in a hybrid role combining in-office and remote work in Houston. You will design and deliver substation drawings, including General Arrangement and Equipment Plans, grading to 3D visualization and detailing, while collaborating with engineers and other designers.

Role requires extensive experience, familiarity with CAD tools, and adherence to client standards. The team emphasizes quality outcomes and diverse benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid.

Responsibilities

• Prepare substation drawings such as General Arrangement and Electrical Equipment Plans.
• Create Grounding, Lightning Shielding and Conduit/Grounding Details.
• Perform walkdowns at client facilities and interpret vendor information.
• Apply client standards to design deliverables.
