Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Physical Designer in a hybrid work model located in Texas. You will design high and extra high voltage substations, producing General Arrangement, Equipment Plans, sections, BOMs, grounding and conduit details.

10+ years of substation design experience required, with CAD proficiency (AutoCAD or MicroStation) and 3D visualization skills. A strong ability to interpret vendor information and work within client standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or equivalent drafting coursework.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD aid.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Substation General Arrangement drawings.
• Develop Substation Electrical Equipment Plans and Section Views.
• Create Substation Grounding and Conduit details.
• Prepare Detailed Bill of Materials and related plans.
• Incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
• Perform client facility walkdowns and ensure standards compliance.
