Job summary

Eversource Energy in Berlin, CT, seeks an Associate Civil Engineer to design and analyze structural foundations and substation support structures. You will collaborate with project teams to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective electric service while adhering to Eversource standards.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology; FE/PE is preferred. 0–3 years of related experience and proficiency with AutoCAD, MathCAD, and RISA are assets.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or Eng Technology required; MS preferred.
• FE and/or PE license preferred; effective communication skills.
• 0–3 years of related civil/structural design experience.
• Experience in design for electrical substations and foundations.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MathCAD, RISA, STAAD Pro or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform structure and foundation design for electrical substation equipment.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers to ensure safe construction and operation.
• Review drawings and design documentation before release to contractors.
• Assist in root-cause analysis and corrective action development.
• Support storm water management and site grading tasks as needed.
