Job summary

United Utility Power Services, LLC in Glastonbury, CT seeks a Civil Substation Engineer II/III to plan, design, and analyze substation foundations, grading, drainage, and structures. Collaborate with project teams for wind, solar and storage projects. Hybrid work with potential remote arrangement.

Requires ABET-accredited civil degree, EIT/FE, and 2+ years for II (5+ for III). Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and related tools is essential. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or FE is required. Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
• Two years of civil engineering experience in substation, utility, renewable energy, or related projects is required.
• Five+ years preferred for Engineer III classification.

Responsibilities

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team on site layouts, grading, drainage, foundation, structure, and substation design.
• Coordinate activities to meet schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Prepare drawings, sketches and details for staff, clients and contractors.
• Review surveys and vendor drawings for constructability and compliance.
