Job summary

The University of Iowa’s International Programs is seeking a full-time Study Abroad Advisor & Program Coordinator to guide undergraduate students through every step of study abroad, from program selection to credit transfer. The role partners across campus to support seamless experiences, including housing, applications, and approvals.

The position emphasizes advising, collaboration with faculty and providers, and effective communication, with a hybrid work model in Iowa.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Minimum of 1 year office or administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise undergraduate students on study abroad programs; serve as advisor for a portfolio of majors.
• Collaborate with International Programs colleagues, UI academic advisors, and providers on applications, passports, visas, and course approvals.
• Guide students through applications and predeparture planning using in-person and virtual appointments and email communications.
