University of Southern California is seeking a Student Programs Advisor II (Study Abroad Advisor) to guide undergraduates through study abroad options, applications, and funding. You will coordinate portfolios, liaise with advisors and partner universities, manage DS-2019 processes, and develop promotional materials.

The role blends administrative leadership with student-facing advising. Hybrid/on-campus work, with emphasis on program design, budgeting, safety oversight, and cross‑unit

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• Five or more years in study abroad advising and/or international program coordination.
• Comprehensive knowledge of study abroad in higher education settings.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize deadlines with attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with Terra Dotta Systems for study abroad.
• One year or more studying and/or working abroad.
• Experience creating and managing web content.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on study abroad programs, applications, funding sources, visas, travel, and safety considerations.
• Coordinate and manage logistics of study abroad program portfolios, including invoicing and transcript processing.
• Liaise with academic advisors, articulation offices, and partner universities on course plans and exchanges.
• Develop and maintain relationships with partner universities and third‑party providers; assist with agreements.
• Plan programming, travel, and promotional materials; design informational content and run study abroad events.
• Oversee program operations with budget and payroll considerations; monitor health, safety and risk; lead staff and student workers.
• Gather data, prepare reports, and contribute to policy development for Overseas Studies.
