Job summary

The Chicago School is seeking a Student Support Counselor to provide student-centered advising across campuses in Anaheim, Chicago, Dallas, DC, and Los Angeles. This hybrid role combines on-campus and remote work to ensure retention, satisfaction, and academic success.

Responsibilities include advising, progress evaluation, and collaboration with Registrar and other departments, with occasional evenings/weekends as needed. The department emphasizes proactive, comprehensive student support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in student-facing roles or higher education preferred.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends/evenings.

Responsibilities

• Work with new and continuing students at various stages of their education.
• Administer advising services including registration, progress evaluation, and records.
• Call/meet with each student throughout the term to support coursework completion.
• Respond to calls and emails with guidance on policies and coursework.
• Maintain accurate student accounts and important academic forms.
• Advise at-risk students on balance, time management and success strategies.
• Advise on course content and registration in degree program.
• Coordinate with Academics, Financial Aid, Admissions, and Student Accounts.
• Collaborate with Registrar’s Office to provide timely institutional guidance.
• Direct students to available support services and resources.
