Job summary

The Chicago School in Anaheim seeks a Student Support Counselor to be the primary access point for students, providing advising, registration support, and progress monitoring across campuses in a hybrid on-site/remote schedule.

The role emphasizes strong communication, meticulous record-keeping, and collaboration with Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions, and Student Accounts to promote student persistence and success. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience within student facing positions and/or higher education preferred.
• Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide advising support to new and continuing students to monitor progress.
• Manage registration, evaluation of program requirements, and academic records.
• Call/meet with each student throughout the term to ensure coursework progress and provide guidance.
• Respond to calls and emails from students with guidance on coursework and policies.
• Ensure student records are accurate and up-to-date by processing academic forms.
• Advise at-risk students on time management and balance to ensure completion.
• Collaborate with Academic, Financial Aid, Admissions, and Student Accounts departments.
• Work with Registrar to provide timely information on policies and course registration.
