Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Tampa, FL, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design on power, energy, and industrial projects.

You will develop calculations, prepare technical specifications, and conduct analyses under wind, seismic, and pressurization loading. Travel to client and vendor offices may be required for design reviews and field verifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with strong background in materials and structural design.
2+ years in structural design engineering with emphasis on steel and concrete foundations.
Experience in design for power plants or heavy industrial facilities preferred.
Knowledge of loads analysis for supports and design integrity.
Proficiency with MS Office and strong communication skills.
FE exam or EIT is a plus.

Responsibilities

Create calculations and develop structural design documents for power, energy, and industrial projects.
Prepare technical specifications and conduct structural analyses under wind, seismic, and pressurization loads.
Design steel frames, connections, concrete members, and supports; verify foundations.
Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and site verifications.
