Job summary

DLA Piper seeks a Client Accounts Project Manager to support partners managing complex client portfolios. You will liaise between partners, clients, and internal teams to ensure accurate financial administration, timely reporting, and strong client service.

Responsibilities include converting billing and matter data into clear updates, producing recurring financial commentary, and driving collection strategies to improve cash flow. Hybrid work arrangement available in multiple offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration or related field.
• 5 years’ experience in legal financial operations or project management.
• Experience with billing, collections, client accounting, e-billing, budgeting, accruals, legal financial systems, and matter financial management.
• Proven ability to analyze and reconcile between cross‑jurisdictional billing and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day engagement with designated partners, clients, and internal teams to ensure financial administration needs are addressed with accuracy and professionalism.
• Convert billing, receivables, and matter information into clear updates, insights, and recommendations for informed decisions.
• Produce recurring reporting and financial commentary covering billing activity, collection progress, and account status.
• Drive follow-through on outstanding items by coordinating with clients, partners, billing personnel, collections staff, and client administration teams.
• Research and resolve invoice questions, charge allocation issues, and payment barriers with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support electronic billing by addressing submission errors or rejections.
• Track accruals, budgets, and matter activity to identify risks and profitability concerns requiring escalation.
• Evaluate aged receivables and improve cash flow by strengthening collections.
• Maintain visibility into client payment activity and implement focused collection strategies.
• Recommend and implement workflow improvements and knowledge resources across the department.
