Job summary

Divers Alert Network is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage daily bank deposits, AR collections, and GL reconciliations. This hybrid role requires 3 days in the office at our Durham, NC location and reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities include Acumatica batch processing, bank deposits, and ensuring accurate general ledger entries for multiple entities, with emphasis on accuracy and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field.
• Valid NC Driver's License.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to critically analyze accounting processes and transactions.
• Experience with Acumatica ERP software a plus.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to be a team player.
• Scuba Industry, Non-Profit or Insurance Agency experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review bank accountants daily for multiple entities, prepare daily bank deposits, cash and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile and post sales portal batches and integrate into Acumatica.
• Physically take deposits to bank daily when required or process via remote deposit software.
• Accounts receivable invoicing and collections, research and initiate processing to clear miscellaneous balances, and reconcile discrepancies in conjunction with the Senior Staff Accountant.
• Research NSF and communicate with member and membership departments as needed.
• Reconcile credit card receipts with vendor and Acumatica processing.
• Data entry for claims payments into the accounts payable module of Acumatica.
• Identify and solve general ledger discrepancies with monthly account reconciliation.
• Review tax exempt and credit status documentation for customers.
• Perform other projects to improve AR processes as well as other duties as assigned by the finance team.
