Job summary

CFS in Grand Rapids is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. You will support bank reconciliations, royalty accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger activities using NetSuite and advanced Excel.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and GAAP knowledge. This onsite/hybrid role offers competitive compensation, a hybrid schedule after training, and clear paths for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• NetSuite experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
• Experience preparing bank and GL reconciliations.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage royalty payment process and maintain documentation.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation calculations.
• Prepare and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and research variances.
• Assist in financial statements, management reports, and analyses.
• Use advanced Excel to analyze data and improve reporting.
• Maintain data integrity in NetSuite and extract data with Access/SQL.
• Support audits with schedules and documentation.
• Identify process improvements and strengthen controls.
