Job summary

Walker Warner Architects, a San Francisco design firm, seeks a Staff Accountant to manage general ledger activities, assist in monthly financial statements, and support budgeting with the Director of Finance. The role blends meticulous accounting with collaboration across project teams in a design-driven studio.

Hybrid schedule after onboarding, competitive compensation including health benefits, profit sharing, 401(k) and generous PTO. Bachelor's degree and 2+ years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar project accounting software is a plus.
• Payroll experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting and bookkeeping for the firm.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and GL account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and analyses (income statement, balance sheet).
• Support budgeting and forecasting with Director of Finance.
• Oversee Accounts Payable for timely vendor payments and credit card statements.
