Walker INC is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Finance Department. The role combines core accounting with financial analysis and process improvement in a growing nonprofit.

Responsibilities include month-end close, accounting for revenue and grants, budgeting support, and cross-functional collaboration with program leaders and development staff. Strong detail orientation and GAAP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience required.
• Experience with revenue recognition, grant accounting, government grants, and/or fee-for-service billing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable invoices and record general ledger entries with GAAP compliance.
• Execute monthly close, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly invoices and manage revenue recognition for programs, grants, and services.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and performance metrics across programs.
• Maintain and improve accounting systems (Dynamics 365, Continua, Paycom).
• Support audits and financial reporting requirements.
