Job summary

HHHunt in Virginia seeks a Staff Accountant to manage month-end close, reconciliations and GAAP-compliant financial recording. This hybrid role requires 2–3 in-office days per week and offers health benefits, 401(k), rental discounts and education assistance.

You will analyze reports, prepare journal entries, support year-end audits, and collaborate with operations staff and vendors to ensure accurate, timely financial information.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
• Experience with Entrata preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze month end financial reports.
• Prepare and post all general journal entries throughout the month.
• Perform detailed monthly review and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze financial data to compare forecasted and trended results.
• Assist Controller to implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies.
• Assist in preparation of Apartment Living forecasting for annual budget process.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for year-end audit.
• Provide accounting assistance to operations staff and vendors.
• Maintain historical financial data and ensure availability on request.
