Job summary

Core Specialty is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our general accounting team in a hybrid role. You will assist with close processes, account reconciliations, and accruals, and support cost center allocations across divisions and legal entities.

You will also collaborate with FP&A on BvA analyses and assist with DAC/NDAC calculations and regulatory reporting. Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, strong US GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and US work authorization.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and close processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for the general accounting team.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in maintaining effective control environment and compliance.
• Collaborate with FP&A on BvA analysis for cost centers and spend categories.
• Prepare DAC and NDAC calculations with input from division presidents.
• Record monthly/quarterly expense accruals with cost center owners/division presidents.
• Assist with preparation of state/regulatory filings and audit requests.
• Support internal and external audits as needed.
• May undertake additional duties as required by the company.
