Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama is seeking an Accounting professional to support the Billing Services and Finance teams. The role focuses on general ledger, billing accuracy, and financial reporting for local and national self-funded accounts, ITS, reinsurance, LTC, and rebates.

Strong Excel, analytical skills, and communication are essential. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement (onsite/remote) with potential office reversion based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or CPA certification.
• Minimum two years of accounting or auditing experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience organizing and prioritizing tasks.
• Experience meeting strict goals and deadlines.
• Experience analyzing information to solve problems.
• Technical skills to learn accounting software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Experience using SQL or other query software preferred.
• Experience with reporting, data analysis.

Responsabilités

• Accurately manage general ledger functions for local and national self-funded accounts, ITS, reinsurance, LTC, and prescription drug rebates.
• Manage billing functions to ensure operational compliance.
• Post routine transactions to the general ledger.
• Perform basic account reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Administer and adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
• Develop accurate billing processes to meet the needs and vision of the Corporation.
• Seek new solutions to improve flexibility and efficiency.
