The position involves month-end close, inventory/WIP tracking, payroll processing, and collaboration with project managers for financial tracking and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field).
• 1–3+ years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Payroll processing experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formulas and pivot tables).
• Experience with ERP systems a plus.
• Manufacturing accounting experience a plus.

CoWorx is seeking a Hybrid Staff Accountant in the Westbrook, Maine.
An industrial manufacturer is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team. This role is remote flexible with and offers exposure to a broad range of accounting functions. It reports to the Accounting Manager and provides direct support to their CFO.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Assist with inventory and work-in-process (WIP) tracking and reconciliations.
• Process payroll and prepare related reporting.
• Partner with project managers to support project setup and financial tracking activities.
• Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and special projects as needed.
• Provide ad-hoc support on accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Desired Background/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (related fields are ok)
• 1-3+ years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Payroll processing experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus
• Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus
