Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to build and operate the reliability of our deployment platform and production infrastructure across cloud and air-gapped environments.

You will own deployments, develop automation, and partner with engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure systems. The role is hybrid with on-site Tuesdays and Thursdays in San Francisco and San Jose, CA; NYC on-site possible.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform/Cloud/Infrastructure
• 3+ years operating Kubernetes in production with Helm
• Experience building CI/CD platforms and deployment automation
• Experience with AWS, GCP or similar cloud platforms

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve Kubernetes-based production infrastructure and deployment systems
• Own customer deployments across cloud and air-gapped environments
• Build and improve deployment observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency through automation
• Participate in production incident response and root cause analysis
• Tune infrastructure components for performance and resilience
• Design and develop internal tooling using Python and/or Go
• Debug complex production issues across Kubernetes, networking, storage and app layers
• Manage infrastructure using Terraform or similar IaC tools
• Collaborate with software engineers and customers on secure deployment architectures
