Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in a hybrid role with on-site Tuesdays in San Francisco and Thursdays in San Jose, CA. You will build, operate, and continually improve the production deployment platform supporting Splunk Agent Observability.

You will own deployments across cloud and air‑gapped environments, develop automation to boost efficiency, and collaborate with software engineers to design secure, scalable architectures and resilient systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in SRE, platform/infra engineering or related fields.
• 3+ years operating Kubernetes in production with Helm.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD platforms and deployment automation.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or similar cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve Kubernetes-based production infrastructure and deployments.
• Own customer deployments across cloud and air-gapped environments, including installation and upgrades.
• Build and improve deployment observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Enhance reliability and scalability through automation and performance tuning.
• Participate in production incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Tune databases and services to improve performance and resilience.
• Design and develop internal tooling using Python and/or Go.
• Debug complex production issues across Kubernetes, networking, and storage layers.
• Manage infrastructure with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
