Job summary

Software Quality Engineer I-III at Cambia Health Solutions offers a hybrid role with in-office work three days a week across multiple offices including Burlington, Renton, Spokane, Vancouver, Portland, Medford, and more. Candidates must reside within commutable distance or be willing to relocate.

You’ll ensure delivery of high-quality software, employing QA best practices, automation and agile processes. The role spans entry to senior levels, requiring CS degree or related field and experience

Qualifications

• The Software Quality Engineer I would have a BA/BS degree in computer science or related field and relevant experience in one programming language, such as Java, Ruby, Python or C# or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The Software Quality Engineer II would have a BA/BS degree in computer science or related field and 3 years of experience performing software quality and testing throughout product development, deployment and maintenance and 1 year of experience writing, running and automating tests; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The Software Quality Engineer III would have a BA/BS degree in computer science or related field and 6 years of experience performing software quality and testing throughout product development, deployment and maintenance, including 3 years of experience writing, running and automating tests; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate on project scrum team and defect triage team while managing personal work backlog using agile practices
• Review user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications, software designs, code and tests to ensure quality standards
• Develop, automate and execute unit, component and system-level tests using industry-standard methods; write automated and manual test cases while collaborating with peers to ensure adequate coverage
• Report test results, submit defects, verify fixes, and assess impact of requirements/design/code changes to recommend test updates and regression testing
• Ensure software testability, test coverage and maintainability meet project requirements; mentor team members on achieving required coverage and improving automated test stability
• Collaborate with Development to define requirements, design and implementation ensuring testability, scalability, maintainability, and reliability Develop technical solutions to meet project quality, cost and schedule requirements while mitigating risks and ensuring executable quality and test plans
• Use metrics to drive process effectiveness, monitor testing progress and product quality, and lead assigned process improvement efforts
• Collaborate on integration and system-level tests; elevate issues to Software Quality Lead as needed
