Job summary

Amerisure in Farmington Hills is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our hybrid team. You will assist with software development, troubleshoot basic issues, and support senior engineers with design and project tasks.

You will work with cloud platforms, apply software design principles, and contribute to automated testing and documentation. The role offers a 3-day hybrid schedule and opportunities for growth within a collaborative IT organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer information services or computer engineering or equivalent.
• Basic proficiency in at least one programming language and frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of testing concepts (unit, integration, system).
• Ability to discuss software design patterns and principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with software architecture and system design under guidance.
• Support projects with multiple stakeholders across IT.
• Follow established software development processes and methodologies.
• Identify and resolve coding errors using debugging tools.
• Maintain domain operations for financial applications and sales platforms.
• Participate in agile practices and support Scrum Master role as needed.
• Create architectural diagrams using Lucidchart/Visio.
• Contribute to automated test scripts and documentation.
