Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Development Manager to lead wind and renewables project development across the Western U.S. The role requires coordinating with cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.

This position can be hybrid, with a preference for proximity to AES’ Louisville, CO office, and involves travel as needed. The candidate should have extensive renewable energy experience, strong program management skills, and the ability to drive projects from concept

Qualifications

• Typically 7–10 years of renewable energy project development experience.
• Undergraduate degree in renewable energy, urban planning, finance or engineering.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of renewable energy project development, utilities, interconnection, permitting, contracting.
• Knowledge of renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of complex project development and portfolio management.
• Ownership of project development schedules and budgets.
• Evaluate and manage risk across timelines, permitting, policy, and technical constraints.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Show leadership to communicate and influence employees regarding project risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams across departments.
