Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to advance the SPARC & ARC tokamak programs. You will implement systems engineering processes, decompose complex subsystems, and drive traceability from requirements through validation across a cross-disciplinary team.

The role involves requirements development, interface definition, risk assessment, trade studies, and test planning to ensure successful integration and validation of fusion-system hardware and controls.

Qualifications

• Elicit, decompose, and establish traceability of system requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces between systems and their interfacing subsystems.
• Perform system-level trade studies to guide decisions and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans and document evidence against requirements verification.
• Support design review content and assess technical maturity and consistency.
• Manage changes affecting the system baseline across scope, schedule, and cost.
• Provide risk assessments and ensure mitigation plans are implemented.
