Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead the SPARC project, driving complex engineering initiatives from inception through final design and construction of highly engineered systems.

You will coordinate a cross-functional team of engineers, scientists, designers, and analysts, develop comprehensive project plans, manage milestones, budgets, and risk, and ensure timely delivery of critical milestones in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects with strong leadership.
Minimum 8 years of engineering and project management experience across disciplines.
Deep understanding of project lifecycles, planning, and scheduling methods.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience driving products through phase-gate reviews (CDR/PDR/FDR).
Experience using Jira and Confluence; scheduling tools MS Project or Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

Drive SPARC projects from inception to completion.
Develop plans for engineering, procurement, and construction of engineered process systems.
Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, designers, and analysts.
Establish milestones and track deliverables within budget and timeline.
Create comprehensive project plans outlining scope, goals, resources, and timelines.
Monitor progress and report status to stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
