Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks a Senior Substation Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for substation projects across multiple locations. You will develop engineered calculations, oversee complexity and schedule, and ensure adherence to BV policies and client needs.

The role includes mentoring engineers, coordinating with multi-discipline teams, and maintaining strong client relations in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Active PE license or equivalent registration.
• Advanced knowledge of structural engineering design principles.
• Experience with 3D analysis and design software (RISA 3D, STAAD Pro).
• Foundation design experience with LPile, RISA Foundation, SP-Mats.
• Strong written and verbal communication; client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design engineering and analysis on substation scopes.
• Develop calculations and engineering deliverables per standards.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Provide guidance to engineering teams and mentor staff.
