Job summary

Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) invites applications for a Street Improvement Permit (SIP) Project Manager in the Street Use Division. This role focuses on reviewing major Street Improvement Permits tied to land use and right-of-way opening and restoration, coordinating with SDOT and other city departments to secure permit approvals.

The position requires an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or two years of college-level coursework, plus at least four years of civil

Qualifications

• Four or more years of civil engineering experience.
• Proficiency reading construction plans and applying codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Track and oversee major Street Improvement Permits through the SDOT permitting system, managing scope, schedule and budget.
• Liaise between external agencies and SDOT for projects requiring permitting.
• Develop and revise policies and processes with SDOT staff.
• Assist with design guidance and preconstruction meetings.
• Promote diversity, inclusiveness, and effective communication in a multicultural workplace.
