Job summary

The City of Seattle's Department of Transportation (SDOT) is seeking a Street Improvement Permit (SIP) Project Manager to lead major permit projects and coordinate with city agencies and private developers to ensure timely permit approvals. You will oversee scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring compliance with land use requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or two years of college coursework in engineering and construction technology.
• At least four years of civil engineering experience.
• Current Washington State driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
• Though not requirements, strong candidates will have permitting and plan review experience, ability to read construction plans, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Street Use Division's Major Permit Project Manager, tracking and overseeing the development of public and private agency projects through the SDOT permitting system.
• Act as liaison between external agencies and SDOT for projects requiring SDOT permitting.
• Collaborate with SDOT staff to develop and revise technical and business-related policies or processes.
• Assist with scheduling and facilitating design guidance meetings and preconstruction meetings.
• Work in a multicultural workplace, emphasizing communication for cooperation, collaboration, and inclusiveness to support department goals.
