Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Express team. This role involves leading feature design, collaborating with Product Management, Architects, DevOps, and other teams across Worldpay, and mentoring teammates.

The position requires strong cloud, microservices, and Agile practices in a distributed enterprise setting. The role supports hybrid work with in-office days in major US offices and requires 7+ years of software delivery experience.

Qualifications

7+ years delivering software solutions and 4+ years in system architecture and design for scalable enterprise apps.
Hands-on Kafka experience and familiarity with cloud-native architectures.
Proven experience deploying and managing distributed applications on cloud platforms.
Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
Experience designing cloud-based solutions on Azure and AWS, including microservices using .NET 6+.
Expertise in Azure hybrid cloud environments, Kubernetes and OpenShift for scalability and high availability.

Responsibilities

Lead technical designs of new features and services from investigation to release.
Collaborate with Product, AR/Agile Release Train members, Architects, DevOps across Worldpay to select best solutions.
Assist with investigation of live system issues and propose root-cause solutions.
Mentor junior team members and participate in SAFe/Agile ceremonies.
Assess architectural impacts on Security, Availability, Performance, Maintainability, and Scalability.
Define system requirements with product managers and users.
