Job summary

AspenTech is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to drive revenue recognition across software and related streams, ensuring ASC 606 compliance and accurate monthly close in a hybrid in-office/remote model.

You will manage reconciliations, journal entries, and SOX controls, collaborating with GL, FP&A, and audit teams, and leveraging Zuora, Oracle, Power BI, and Snowflake to deliver timely reporting for internal and parent company Emerson.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP revenue recognition for software and multi-element arrangements.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
• CPA/MBA or public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue accounts to the general ledger.
• Calculate and record revenue adjustments in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
• Participate in the monthly close process and record revenue related journal entries in a timely manner.
• Help manage the revenue accounting system Zuora, including opening/closing periods as part of the monthly close process.
• Ensure deadlines are met on a monthly/quarterly basis, including delivering revenue reporting to internal and Emerson.
• Perform key SOX internal controls.
• Prepare and book journal entries to ensure the appropriate revenue treatment.
• Support internal and external audit activities, including SOX Compliance.
• Work closely with other groups in Finance (GL, FP&A).
