Job summary

AspenTech is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to drive ASC 606 compliant revenue recognition across multiple streams in a hybrid work model (4 days in-office, 1 day remote). You will own monthly reconciliations, adjust revenue per GAAP, and support the close process and SOX controls.

This role collaborates with GL, FP&A, and external auditors, manages Zuora-based periods, and prepares journal entries to ensure correct revenue treatment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP, especially software revenue recognition and multi-element arrangements.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience required; CPA/MBA/public accounting experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams and meet deadlines.
• Experience with revenue accounting systems and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue accounts to the general ledger.
• Calculate and record revenue adjustments in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
• Participate in the monthly close process and record revenue related journal entries.
• Help manage the revenue accounting system Zuora, including opening/closing periods.
• Ensure deadlines are met for monthly/ quarterly reporting, including to Emerson.
• Perform key SOX internal controls and assist audit activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure correct revenue treatment.
• Collaborate with GL Accounting and FP&A.
