Job summary

UPMC Health Plan in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Project Manager for the PMO in Business Performance Improvement. This full-time, hybrid role combines work from home with in-office days Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and aims to align multiple projects to program goals and ROI.

You will lead complex initiatives, develop detailed plans, define metrics, mentor teams, and apply Agile, Lean, Six Sigma practices to maximize value and ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, health care, management, or related business field.
• Minimum of six years of related work experience in project management in a multi-faceted user environment directly managing multiple projects.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Strong management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) are required.
• Excellent Project Management skills.
• Excellent computer skills required, including Access, Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent software applications.
• Ability to manages multiple complex projects and develops solutions that align with the business strategic business needs.
• Ability to perform planning for multiple and/or large initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to provide services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.
• Ability to effectively manage project business value, scope, time, cost, quality, people, communication, risk, procurement & vendors, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist team members in resolving project problems and facilitate decision-making.
• Assist with achieving Operations division strategic goals as well as system strategic goals.
• Leadership - Build, mentor, train, coach future leaders and project managers.
• Lead complex project teams to create enhanced business value and positive ROI.
• Assure quality of information through business case and process/application-level testing; validate test results per the business needs.
• Develop and implement key metrics to measure and report on progress and value of initiatives.
• Proactively identify trends and process improvement opportunities across departments within projects and operations.
• Work with other managers to achieve efficiencies across the integration of multiple projects and operational processes.
• Apply best practices in project management, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, and other applicable methodologies to maximize ROI.
• Apply cross-functional, change management and implementation strategies; ensure that all of the participating parties have committed to effective implementation of the processes and procedures; providing synergies and value beyond what can be provided in a single functional area.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans; this includes utilizing standard project documentation and methodology and project tracking and reporting procedure.
• Provide concise and timely status reporting as required.
• Consistently demonstrate performance towards UPMC's values.
