Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an experienced Engineer to support interconnection, commissioning, and performance of large and computational load facilities. You will help implement TIRLL and the Computational Load Commissioning Process, reviewing designs and documentation to identify gaps.

The role requires a strong background in power systems, ability to translate complex issues for diverse stakeholders, and collaboration across cross-functional teams. Hybrid work is offered, with travel up to 15-25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; PE licensure preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience for Engineer III or 6 years for Senior Engineer.
• Knowledge of power systems, interconnection requirements, and NERC/FERC standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical evaluations supporting interconnection, commissioning, and performance of large and computational load facilities.
• Support development and implementation of Technical Interconnection Requirements for Large Load (TIRLL).
• Support development of Duke Energy's Computational Load Commissioning Process.
• Review customer facility designs, equipment information, and commissioning documents to identify gaps.
• Translate complex technical issues into clear requirements for internal teams and stakeholders.
• Coordinate engineering activities and deliverables, prepare technical documentation, and support project schedules.
