Job summary

West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for a Hybrid Senior Academic Advisor in the Graduate Programs Office of the John Chambers College of Business and Economics in Morgantown. The role focuses on advising graduate students, coordinating programming, and supporting college initiatives to improve retention and degree completion.

The successful candidate will provide academic counseling, contribute to course scheduling, and collaborate with campus partners to support student success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in advising or counseling and academic or student support services.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in program planning/management.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and coordinate programming including recruitment, orientation, academies and retention initiatives.
• Assist leadership in collecting and analyzing enrollment data to improve retention and completion.
• Collaborate with recruitment staff to increase yield from admits to deposits.
• Coordinate with career services staff within the college.
• Provide timely academic counsel to help students select and complete graduate programs.
• Develop and monitor advisee plans in DegreeWorks and track persistence and completion.
