Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex renovation and construction projects in Michigan. The role oversees pre-project activities, design, scheduling, budgeting, and close-out to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while meeting codes and county standards.

You will serve as the primary liaison with architects, engineers, contractors, and county departments, guiding project administration, risk management, and reporting to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field required.
• Six years of full-time experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management; or registration as a Professional Architect or Engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field with six years of experience.
• Eight years of full-time experience or PMP certification.
• Ten years of full-time experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management.

Responsibilities

• Lead major renovation and new construction projects from pre-project through close-out.
• Represent the department with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and County departments.
• Manage bidding, awarding of contracts, and project-related purchases.
• Prepare cost estimates, funding requests, drawings, specifications, bid documents, and reports.
• Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Maintain schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
