Job summary

The Arizona Food Bank Network (AzFBN) is seeking a Senior Director of Development to lead a mature fundraising program in Phoenix. You will direct donor stewardship, major gifts, grants, and communications, while guiding a small team and coordinating with vendors to grow contribution streams.

Based in Phoenix with a flexible hybrid schedule, you will build strategies, manage data in DonorPerfect and EveryAction, and report metrics to leadership to advance AzFBN's hunger relief mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of fundraising/development experience.
• Excellent communication across media and storytelling.
• Experience leading a fundraising team.
• Strong presentation and donor relationship skills.
• Knowledge of nonprofit marketing across channels.
• Technology savvy with donor databases and reporting.
• Interest in new fundraising streams (DAFs, social media, text-to-give).
• Empathy for diverse cultures and communities.
• Willingness to travel regularly in Maricopa County and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Solicit individual donors via email, direct mail, in person, and other methods with a calendar.
• Represent fundraising to the Leadership Team with metrics and narratives.
• Oversee storytelling and earned/paid media to build the AzFBN brand.
• Develop donor stewardship strategies with staff and the Executive Team.
• Support strategies to enhance giving from donor advised funds (DAFs).
• Manage data integrity and use DonorPerfect and EveryAction for fundraising.
• Grants program management including writing, prospecting, and reporting.
• Middle and major donor case management with tailored communications.
