Job summary

Xenon7 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to architect and build scalable data platforms for a life sciences client. You will own the architectural vision and hands-on execution across scientific, clinical, and manufacturing data domains in a 3-day onsite hybrid role in Indianapolis.

You will work with process engineers, clinical scientists, and platform teams to accelerate drug discovery and manufacturing operations while ensuring governance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Senior-level proficiency (10–20+ years) in software development and data platform engineering.
• Experience integrating OT/manufacturing data with clinical/scientific data across domains.
• Advanced Python, PySpark, and SQL expertise in scalable data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines and architecture for scientific, clinical trial, and research informatics data.
• Ingest, harmonize, and model OT and manufacturing data (MES, SCADA, PI) for analytics and reporting.
• Unify disparate data pipelines into centralized, highly available enterprise data platforms.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines using modern cloud platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS/Azure), PySpark, and SQL.
• Ensure governance, data residency, and GxP regulatory compliance in a monitored environment.
• Collaborate with process engineers, chemical engineering leads, and informatics directors to translate needs into specs.
• Establish engineering best practices, data modeling standards, and pipeline monitoring frameworks.
