Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services seeks a Senior Cost Accountant in Plano, TX (hybrid: 3 days onsite). The role manages cost accounting across three plants, oversees standard costs, inventory valuation, variances, and the financial close, partnering with operations and finance leadership.

You will support budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting, with exposure to SAP/Oracle/Microsoft Dynamics/NetSuite in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing variances.
• Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze standard costs for inventories (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
• Review and reconcile inventory balances per policy and GAAP.
• Analyze variances (labor, material, overhead, scrap, efficiency).
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for three facilities.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Develop reporting dashboards for plant performance and cost metrics.
