Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Commercial Insurance Claims Representative in a hybrid role, balancing in-person collaboration with remote work flexibility. You will review and process simple to moderately complex commercial claims within your authority, with access to paid education and training.

The role emphasizes timely investigations, direct communication with insureds, agents and internal customers, and accurate reserves and settlements in line with policy terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of claims handling experience desired.
• Strong customer service and technology skills.
• Able to navigate multiple systems; strong organization and communication.
• License may be required in multiple states by state law.

Responsibilities

• Investigates claims using internal and external resources, including communication with insured/other parties, report analysis, and loss assessment.
• Direct interaction with insureds, claimants, agents and internal customers.
• Determines policy coverage through data and terms analysis; notifies agent/insured of coverage or issues.
• Establishes claim reserves and adjusts during processing.
• Determines and negotiates settlement amounts within authority.
• Writes/ reviews property damage or auto damage estimates as needed.
• Takes statements and collaborates with Field Appraisal, Subrogation, SIU as appropriate.
• Maintains accurate claim files and documentation throughout the lifecycle.
