Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Significant hands-on experience with COBOL application development and support.
• Experience working in complex enterprise application environments.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of mission-critical IBOR applications.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and support enterprise applications using COBOL and related technologies.
• Participate in application modernization initiatives, including converting and refactoring COBOL applications to Java-based solutions
• Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, QA teams, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Perform system analysis, technical design, coding, testing, and implementation activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution for application defects.
• Review code and technical designs to ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Contribute to application performance tuning, stability improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Support Agile development practices including sprint planning, estimation, and release activities.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within the team.
• Participate in technology modernization assessments and roadmap planning.
