Job summary

Peyton Resource Group seeks a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting and close processes in a private company environment in Dallas. You will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements, and help ensure GAAP compliance.

Ideal candidates have 3-6+ years of accounting experience, CPA-eligible, and strong Excel skills; Sage Intacct experience is a plus. This hybrid role requires the ability to work independently and communicate complex concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3-6+ years of accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems is a plus.
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills, including ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Support the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
• Perform detailed variance and flux analysis, providing clear insights into business performance.
• Support the annual financial audit process and prepare related documentation.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across reporting systems.
• Support research and documentation of accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Assist in drafting accounting memos for complex or non-routine transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
• Assist with a variety of ad hoc projects related to financial reporting.
