Job summary

IEM is seeking a Senior Accountant to support corporate accounting and financial reporting at our Raleigh HQ. The role focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, analytics, and management reporting, with close ownership and collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.

You will help implement FASB updates, assist with audits, and support asset-based lending reporting. Hybrid work 1-3 days remote, located near Raleigh, NC.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of accounting experience with U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Ability to prepare financial statements and analyze results.
• Strong communication with financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Prepare income statement and balance sheet analytics.
• Produce internal statements and monthly management packs.
• Analyze overhead, rates, and shared service costs.
• Partner with IT to enhance reporting tools and data integrity.
• Support external audits with schedules and documentation.
• Prepare monthly bank reporting for asset-based lending.
• Monitor FASB updates and implement changes.
• Lead complex account reconciliations.
• Prepare external audit schedules.
• Draft accounting memos and technical analyses.
• Develop reporting improvements and automation.
• Review work by junior staff.
• Explain financial results to management.
