Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Security Platform Engineer to design, operate, automate, and continuously improve network security platforms protecting IT and OT environments across 150+ locations. You will own policy lifecycle, change control, and upgrades while partnering with Cyber Operations, Infrastructure & Site Reliability, and vendors.

You will apply automation to reduce manual effort, minimize rule sprawl, and lower operational risk while ensuring reliability for manufacturing

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience engineering, operating, or administering enterprise network security platforms such as next-generation firewalls.
• Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, and network segmentation.
• Experience in change control and IT service management to deliver changes safely and with documentation.
• Ability to script or automate to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
• Ability to translate security standards into practical, maintainable policy.
• Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, operate, and continuously improve Georgia-Pacific's network security platforms across locations.
• Own platform lifecycle, policy management, change control, health monitoring, and upgrade cycles.
• Design and drive adoption of global, standards-based security policies to reduce rule sprawl.
• Automate request intake and fulfillment to handle routine and complex changes safely.
• Partner with teams and vendors to define roles, communicate changes, and deliver projects to go-live.
• Support OT/IT security platforms and review vendor remote-access requests.
