Job summary

SMBC Group seeks an Associate in Securities within Treasury Operations to manage day-to-day workflow, verify trades, and support settlement processes. You will supervise processing tasks, escalate issues, and ensure accurate, timely completion of trades across domestic and global offices.

Qualifications

• Experience with securities settlements and related guidelines.
• Understanding of payment structures and settlement processes.
• Familiarity with back-office applications (BONy-BDC, AccessEdge, OBS, MONTRAN).
• Strong prioritization, time management, and accountability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to coordinate with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Manages end-to-end workflow; prioritizes and aligns tasks with objectives.
• Ensures adherence to customer and bank guidelines and procedures.
• Assists staff to ensure payments are approved and accurate.
• Approves release of payments.
• Researches, investigates, and resolves failed, mismatched, and unmatched trades.
• Verifies and checks reports produced by the operations staff.
• Ensures compliance with bank and regulatory requirements and standards of ethical behavior.
• Participates in Disaster Recovery exercises to ensure smooth recovery of applications in the event of unplanned business disruption.
